Out of the Ordinary
CCAN (Nottingham Contemporary) 2006
The text, written by Heather Connelly, describes the past, present and future use of the CCAN site. The work describes its fragile state in spring 2006 – as works started on demolishing and laying the foundations of the gallery. It is narrated by artist Heidi Schaefer who guides you through the site inviting you to imagine and lose yourself in this ‘unstable place’.
The work was commissioned by Deborah Dean and Stella Couloutbanis, curators of the Angel Row Gallery and the Bonnington Gallery who were the driving force behind the creation of Nottingham Contemporary.
This limited edition CD was enclosed in a folded envelope featuring images of the site, at time of production. The inner and outer sleeves are featured below.
